Sugar Pine

Majestic sugar pine (Pinus lambertiana Douglas) in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Sugar pine is the tallest and most massive species in the genus Pinus, and its cones (inset image) are the longest of any conifer. These are marvelous trees.
