Don't really know anything more about this beautiful Chinese statue than was written on its label at the Met. Tang Dynasty (618 - 907); limestone with pigment. Lovely colors on his robe. Penetrating gaze. Unclear what he's holding. Dharma jewel of Truth? A container of the pure water of Compassion?
