Half Dome

Some of the most powerful parts of my trip to Yosemite were the landscapes. Like the view of Half Dome as seen from Olmstead Point shown above. John Muir had this to say about Yosemite:

"It is by far the grandest of all special temples of Nature I was ever permitted to enter".

Would have to agree with this. What a place. [NOTE: Be sure to check out the John Muir link. Lot of great info about this insightful naturalist, writer, and wilderness advocate].

Lembert Dome

Just back from several glorious days in the High Sierras of Yosemite National Park. Our campsite in Toulumne Meadows faced Lembert Dome, and every morning I was greeted by this (see below) enormous mass of granite as I crawled out of my tent.

Couldn't help but wonder about the view from the top, so yesterday I walked up the trail around back (as opposed to the more strenous climb up the face).  Image below is what it looks like once you reach the top.
