Am about halfway through Jiang Rong's (Lü Jiamin) marvelous book, Wolf Totem. What an engaging, beautifully rendered story about Inner Mongolia, the Cultural Revolution, grassland ecosystems, ethnic nomads, Han Chinese, agricultural collectivization - and wolves.
