Amir Vahab played a benefit concert of Persian and Sufi music yesterday at the Empty Hand Zen Center. One of the instruments he played was the tanbour (shown in the video clip), a three-stringed, long-necked lute that has been used in Middle Eastern music since the third millennium BC. Lovely music, great concert.
